BIRD NERD ALERT!!! Black grass wren, one of the most elusive of the 11 wren species.
Endemic to the Kimberley region, this species has a specific habitat type, of heavily dissected sandstone, and spinifex that hasn’t been burnt regularly. Changed fire regimes and feral cats have had a huge impact on the already threatened species.
So you could imagine how chuffed and excited I was to this bird today!
